Are you familiar with the “Sustainable Development, Sport is Committed” label? Created in 2009 by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), it is nevertheless considered a benchmark in terms of sustainable sporting events. For over 10 years, it has been promoting the approach of sporting event organizers who are committed to developing events that meet environmental, social, economic, and ethical criteria.
"This Label was created in 2009 following the publication in 2008 of the Sport Charter for Sustainable Development. Inspired by this charter, the label responds to the need to put into practice the sporting commitment mentioned in theory. This label's mission is to stimulate the implementation of sports organizations in a reasoned sporting practice, respectful of sustainable development and eco-responsible. A set of listed actions that supports the development of ecological and responsible sporting events. Objective: to increase the positive impact and reduce the negative impact on the planet of each sporting event. »
