What is renewable energy?

Although there are many definitions, we can present it as follows: renewable energy is energy derived from a primary energy resource whose renewal is considered permanent on a human timescale. Examples of renewable energies include: hydroelectric power, photovoltaic power, wind power, biomass, concentrated solar power (CSP), tidal power, etc.

They are considered sustainable because they do not run out in the long term and have a lower environmental impact than traditional energy sources based on fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas). They are essential for the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy system and for combating climate change.
