How can we recover this hydrogen?

The latter can come from 3 different sources:
We speak of gray hydrogen when this hydrogen comes from fossil fuels, coal, natural gas, etc.
We speak of blue hydrogen when this hydrogen comes from CO2 present in the atmosphere.
Finally, we speak of green hydrogen when the latter comes from the production of renewable energies.

The same recipe – industrial process – is applied each time: the hydrogen atoms from the other atoms to which they are bonded. This is possible thanks to a process called “electrolysis”. The principle is simple: send an electric current through the water so that the atoms dissociate, and finally recover the famous hydrogen.

So then... Why are we talking about a hydrogen revolution?

Today, the challenge lies in storing energy from renewable sources. And guess who would be a perfect answer to this problem? Bingo! Hydrogen!

Since the electrolysis process is carried out using renewable energy, we actually obtain green hydrogen, which can be used to power a fuel cell that produces electricity.

This is the revolution! Thanks to this cell, we can decarbonize a large part of our industries. Easy, right?
